Bakhoor

Bakhoor is a form of incense that is burned as scented chips or blocks. It is usually burned in a special incense burner with coal.

The mark of a good bakhoor is that its smell lingers in the whole house for hours and hours after it has been burnt. And it can also smelled on the clothes of the people who reside in the house.

This is a very common tradition in the Arab world. And it is also customary to gift Bakhoor on special occasions or during Ramadan.
